Play suited connectors that are
above 4.
Example: 6 Hearts, 7 Hearts

These hands will give the player the ability to get a straight or a flush. The
lower hands, like the one above, gives the player the ability to look like
he/she is bluffing when a small flop comes, however, he/she has the best hand
possible (The Nuts). |

|
Which hand is better: King Hearts,
Queen Spades OR Three Hearts, Three Spades?

Answer: The pair of threes will win 51.50% of the time. There are many good
things that can happen with a pair in your hand. Three of a kind (Set), full
house, or even four of a kind. Most of the time it is difficult for your
opponent to see the great hand you have.

If the flop comes with no two cards
that are suited AND all the cards are under 10 AND the cards are not connected,
bet. This type of flop is one of the best flops to bluff at.

If you are playing in a no limit tournament bet the size of the pot. If you are
playing in a high limit poker game bet or raise. If you are playing in a low
limit game, do not bluff. |

|
Always remember that low limit
poker is strictly a game of odds. The player that knows the statistics will win
more often than someone who does not. In an 8-10 person game, there is a low
chance of winning by a pure bluff. There is always a sucker who will call you
all the way to the end. One person's $4 game is another persons $400 game.
What we mean by this is that a 'lot of money' means different amounts,
depending who you ask. |

|
In a no-limit tournament, we
recommend that you play slightly more agressive than you normally would in the
beginning.
The reason is because the blinds are smaller in the begining, which means you
have the chance to win more money with less risk. |

|
|
|
| In no limit texas holdem use the
size of the pot to determine how much you bet. A small bet should be about 25%
of the pot, a medium bet should be 50% of the pot, and a big bet should be the
size of the pot. Try to save the all-ins until you are sure your opponent will
fold or lose to you...Don't guess, it's much more fun to keep playing. |

In a no limit tournament with three
players or less, if you hold an Ace and a Seven, statistically
speaking, you should be the favorite to win. The bottom line is: Do not fold
before the flop when holding an Ace in a three person (or less) game.

In fact, you should raise! |
| |
|
|
|
| Take your time. Play premium hands:
Jacks or better. Statistically, every 16th hand (or less) that is dealt to you
will be a great hand. Wait for those great hands and play them strong. Take
your risks when you are on the blinds. This way, you are folding when you have
statistically weak hands and playing hands when you have great hands (or are
pot committed by the blinds). |
| |
|
|
| Great players do not have to see if
their opponents are bluffing them. Let it go. Fold when you are beat. Do not
see it out until the end. If you do not have an 'out' after the flop, fold. (An
'out' is a card that will help your hand to give you a great hand. An example
would be if you have 4 hearts, the 'out' would be the fifth heart.) |
| |
|
|
|
Many average players OVERPLAY their
two down cards. If you have two Aces and the following flop comes:

Do not over play your two down cards, play the five cards you have. In
an 8 person game the two Aces is actually the underdog in this hand. |
