Gambling Books

Begining Of Gambling Books

For the absolute beginner in the world of gambling, both online and in the real world, there is a limited number of resources they can turn to for help learning. There are, of course, online rule books, whose accuracy and integrity can be called into doubt. There are the friends of the beginner, but the majority of at-home gamblers use a hybrid version of the official rules. So, they are left with one main resource: books. Books are easy to have propped open on your lap or by your computer when you are playing online, and you can read them in your spare time. Not only do they have undeniable accuracy and integrity, the often include diagrams, tables, and charts, all of which can prove immensely helpful to the novice gambler.

How much do gambling books cost?

As with most things, gambling books range in price drastically. Prices can range from 4 dollars for a small, easy-to-read pamphlet that covers the bare rules of poker, to 250 dollars for a full-fledged encyclopedia that has the rules for every casino and card game known to mankind, and their full, unabridged rules. Many of the books are purchasable online. If you cannot find quite what you are looking for, your local bookstore (if they are any respectable bookstore, that is!) will undoubtedly have a section on gambling, with books for sale at prices that are probably cheaper than those found online (often due to the lack of shipping costs, domain names, and other online price-raisers).

If I don’t like books…

Not to worry! There are tons of alternatives, that, while not as widespread as books, contain the same level of integrity, clarity, and accuracy. For example, audiotapes are an old-fashioned, but nonetheless cheap and easy way to learn. There are also a fair number of videotapes around, that contain live demonstrations of the game itself, allowing the viewer to feel as if they have received one-on-one personal training, as well as surveyed a real game (one of the greatest ways of learning). Finally, there is a multitude of software available for purchase that not only teaches you, but also offers you free games with artificial intelligence players, quite possibly the closest thing to an online game you’ll ever be able to get at.
