Online gambling has built up a bigger following than ever before thanks to the
increased security that sites are able to offer. The cell phone sportsbook is
the latest in a revered line of gabling options available for those that are
too busy, too lazy or simply unable to find a physical betting shop. Initially
online sportsbooks were reserved for the Internet only and slow connections
coupled with regular timeouts and concerns over payment security meant that the
number who used these sites were few and far between. However, the increased

advances that saw the popularity of the online sportsbook rocket. Telephone
betting has been available for a long time but the advent of the Internet saw
the bookmakers being able to take bets quicker and relay the information more
accurately so they could offer better prices over a longer period of time. Then
came the betting exchange, literally turning the gambling industry completely
on it’s head letting punters bet against one another instead of using a
bookmaker. The result was greatly increased odds and a larger number of people
betting bigger amounts.
