When you step into a casino, above everything else remember
this: Aside from Poker or Bingo, whatever game you are there to play, the
casino will have an advantage. No one will stay in business giving the
advantage to the player.
This is very important in the game of Blackjack, and more importantly in
Blackjack betting.
Why? Simple. The advantage the house has in this game is relatively small. Many
people know this, which is one of the reasons Blackjack is so popular. But
never forget, the house still has the advantage. If you sit at a Blackjack
table and consistently bet the same amount of money every hand, you will
eventually end up losing.
To tip the scales back toward your favor (and no you rarely will get the
advantage against the house) you have to alter your Blackjack betting. The
casino allows you to double down whenever, which is your best weapon at the
table. That's because you can increase your bet after you get information.
True, it's not complete information, but you have to take what you can get.
Most people who play Blackjack know to double down when they have an 11, but
that's usually the only time they will do it. Which feeds directly into the
Casino's pocket. Because increasing your bet with a 9 or 10, or even an 8
sometimes, in the right situation, can give you an edge and give you a better
chance to win at the Blackjack table.
Mixing up your Blackjack betting won't give you the advantage over the house in
the long run, but it will give you a better chance to win more money in
specific hands; and if you manage that right you can come home a winner!
