American Casino

A Real American Casino Melting Pot

By Richard Manning, Jr.

There lies a seldom-discussed beauty inside an American casino. Once you wander past the beaming shafts of neon and rhythmic shimmer of patterned blinking light bulbs, you will see an interwoven pastiche of all stages and strata of American life. More than any other public place in the United States, the average casino has a tendency to act as a bridge that covers the chasm normally separating the zenith of luxurious decadence and the pit of the blood and sweat from the blue collar lifestyle. It is the one place in the country where status and class are unceremoniously eschewed and replaced by a spirit of friendly camaraderie that knows no color or religion and sees no price tag or paycheck stub.

The CEO with a Master’s degree who has never learned to cook for himself can be rubbing elbows at a Let It Ride table with the diploma-less steelworker who has never spent more than $60 in a restaurant, and act like best friends if one of them gets a flush. The trucker proudly displaying a crude message about body parts can gain an instant bond with the rich executive who would normally take severe umbrage with his chapeau had he not just rolled his fifth consecutive seven.

It truly is refreshing to see that these kind of spontaneous partnerships are commonplace in an American casino. But it should not be surprising to see such a thing, simply because all of these people are working together for one common goal for the greater good, which is to win as get as much money as possible in a finite amount of time. And really, what is more American than that?

American Casino
From Atlantic City To Vegas

Say American Casino and most folks think of the TV show, with its flamboyant employees and elegant resort. Before the show brought attention to the Green Valley Ranch and Resort, Las Vegas has always been the first thought when you mention casinos. The lavish décor, the finest in entertainment, and of course the casinos. This is just what Americans expect when they visit a casino resort. Atlantic City is another notable casino resort strip.

While it may not have the same reputation or lengthy history; it too has its share of uniqueness. The casinos that inhabit the beautiful New Jersey shore give the east coast its fun in the slot machine sun. But through the years casinos have begun to dot the American landscape. As you travel, gaming can be found in just about any state. The size of the casino may vary, but the amenities can make even the smallest casino a big hit.

Restaurants play an important role in a casino. Everyone loves eat, and if your gaming experience was not pleasant, you want your meal to be. Whether your visiting a casino for a day or for a week, the attentive treatment is very important. Most casino visitors are repeat customers. It’s the camaraderie that links these people together.

Going to a casino is certainly an experience to the senses. The bright lights, the bing- bings and the players can get you in the gaming spirit quick. Seeing people win can just fill the room with excitement. It is all this, the flavors of each individual casino that keeps bringing people back for more. Casinos are a part of society. They help pay for state projects, employ many local people and can help rebuild small communities.
